Cant switch tenant in Fabric Data Engineering VS Code extension

Hi,

Currently there is no way to switch tenant in Fabric Data Engineering VS Code extension, It logs with my default tenant and shows only workspaces in that tenet. But on fabric there is option to switch tenant.

We also have this feature in in MS fabric extension.

Does someone knows is fabric team planning to implement this feature in Fabric Data Engineering VS Code extension ?

Thanks

Hi RohanM13323,

Thank you for the update. The issue appears to be a feature gap rather than a configuration problem. The most effective way to bring this to the product team’s attention is to submit an idea in the Ideas Forum using the link provided:Fabric Ideas - Microsoft Fabric Community

Should you have any further queries, please feel free to contact the Microsoft Fabric community.

Thank you.

Hi @suparnababu8 the link you shared is about the Microsoft Fabric Extenstion which already has the feature avaible. There is another extension called Fabric Data Engineering Extension I was asking about this extension.

There is no public confirmation from Microsoft that tenant switching will be added to the fabric data engineering extension for vsc. The limitation you are seeing is known and has been raised by multiple users, but it has not yet appeared on any published roadmap or release notes. In practice, feature parity across fabric tools usually arrives gradually, so it is likely on the backlog, but there is no committed timeline. For now, afaik, the only reliable workaround is to sign out and sign in with the desired tenant or use the browser fabric portal when switching frequently.

Please 'Kudos' and 'Accept as Solution' if this answered your query.

@Vinodh247 Thanks for sharing the info. Is there any Microsoft support forum where i can post to grab the developers attention to include this feature in this extension.
