Cannot Create Fabric Lakeshouse Shortcut to Gen2 Storage

Hi

Would really appreciate assistance as I cannot find anything online around this.

I have a Lakehouse in Fabric and I am trying to create a shortcut to our Synapse Gen2 DataLake, please refer to screenshot below I get a very generic "an error occurred ... try again later".

The really weird thing is this is for a customer in their Fabric capacity trying to connect to their Synapse environment all in the same tenant etc.

When I try the exact same short cut with same url, credentials etc in our Fabric capacity with is in another tenant and and another region it works fine? No idea where to even start troubleshooting the issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.
