Hello Community,
I am evaluating the Azure Fabric Capacity Metrics App. I have created a Azure Pipeline and I have just extracted 645Mb of data in my LakeHouse. However, I'm not seeing any information or metrics reflecting the data extraction in Azure Fabric Metrics App, see image below. Therefore, can someone tell me how long should it take before the metrics showing the extraction appear in the App. All that is visible is an Item kind called SQLDbNative.
Thanks

The Fabric Capacity Metrics App usually refreshes data with a delay. Capacity metrics are captured by the Fabric telemetry pipeline, not in real time. Depending on your tenant region, the delay can range from 15 minutes to about 1 hour before new workloads appear.
A few checks to confirm:
Dataset Refresh: Open the Power BI workspace where the “Fabric Capacity Metrics” report is deployed and confirm the dataset refresh succeeded. You can trigger a manual refresh to load the latest telemetry.
Activity Type Visibility: The app reports capacity consumption only for items registered through the Fabric telemetry pipeline. For Lakehouse data extractions via pipelines, it should appear as “Data Movement” or “DataflowGen2”, not under “SQLDbNative.”
Permissions: Ensure your account has Fabric Admin or Capacity Admin rights to view the metrics for the target capacity. Otherwise, you’ll see partial or empty results.
Time Filter: Adjust the time range in the app to “Last 24 hours” or “Last 7 days.” New activity often falls outside the default range.
If the metrics still don’t show after 1–2 hours and dataset refreshes succeed, check the Fabric Admin Portal → Capacities → Monitoring → Metrics App tab. You can also re-import the latest version of the Metrics App from the Power BI AppSource to ensure telemetry schema updates are in sync.
Hi Community,
Essentially, what I'm trying to do is max out my Fabric Capacity so that I can carry a few tests, such as setting alerts etc... any help with that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi MJ
I'm now getting Metrics.
Thank you
So, I'm in our Fabric Capacity Metrics Workspace, see below.
You mentioned "
Dataset Refresh: Open the Power BI workspace where the “Fabric Capacity Metrics” report is deployed and confirm the dataset refresh succeeded. You can trigger a manual refresh to load the latest telemetry."
Can you let me know where I should go to for confirmation that the dataset refresh succeeded please.
Hi MJParikh,
Thanks for getting back to me. This is an excellent response. Please stay tuned as I'm going to go through your suggestions and I'm sure I'll have some follow up questions.
