Share Copilot exploration insights in Real-Time Dashboards (Preview)

Author: Michal Bar - Principal Program Manager

Real-Time Dashboards display live metrics, help you identify anomalies, and support fast decision-making. With Copilot-assisted data exploration, you can use natural language to ask questions about your data, drill down into specifics, and uncover insights - all without writing KQL queries.

Now, when you discover something worth sharing, you can share a link to your Copilot-generated insights directly with colleagues. Recipients see the same query results and visuals you do, and they can take action on those insights immediately.

How sharing works

Sharing Copilot exploration insights takes just a few steps:

  1. Explore your data — In a real-time dashboard, use Copilot to ask questions about the data. You can explore at the dashboard level for insights that span multiple tiles, or select a specific tile to focus your exploration. Ask questions like “What are the top 5 event types?” or “Show me data for Texas only.”
  2. Find an insight worth sharing — As you explore, Copilot displays the results in a pane with Visual, Table, and Query tabs. Review the data, refine your questions, and customize the visual if needed.

  • Share the insight — When you’re ready, select the share icon in the Copilot pane or in the expanded view. A dialog appears where you choose whether to include the visual in your shared link. Select Copy link to copy the URL to your clipboard.

  • Send the link — Share the copied link through email, chat, or any communication channel your team uses. When recipients open the link, they see a read-only view of your query, results and the visual.

Capabilities for recipients

Recipients who open a shared link see exactly what you discovered — the query results and optional visual rendered as you saw them. From there, they have several options:

  • Save the query to a new or existing KQL Queryset for further exploration or future reference.
  • Run the query themselves to see the latest data, since the query remains connected to the live data source.
  • Re-share the insight with others who might benefit from the findings.
  • Save to a dashboard — either a new dashboard or an existing one — to keep the insight accessible for ongoing monitoring.
  • Modify the visual if it was included, changing the visual type or customizing its appearance to fit their needs.

This flexibility means recipients aren’t limited to viewing your findings. They can build on your work, adapt it to their own context, or incorporate it into their monitoring workflows.

Getting started

To use this capability, you need:

  • A workspace with a Microsoft Fabric-enabled capacity.
  • A real-time dashboard (connected to a single data source) with visuals.

Open your dashboard in View mode, use Copilot to explore the data, and select the share icon when you find an insight to share.
