Capacity Overview Events in Real-Time Hub is now generally available—enabling organizations to monitor capacity conditions, trigger alerts, and automate actions in near real-time. These events provide a continuous stream of signals from your Fabric capacities, helping administrators improve observability, address issues proactively, and retain trend data for planning purposes.

Capacity Overview Events include two event types:

  • Capacity Summary – Provides a high-level view of capacity utilization and health across workloads. Summary events are emitted every 30 seconds and help administrators monitor trends and overall capacity behavior.
  • Capacity State – Captures important state changes, such as when a capacity is paused, resumed, or experiences throttling-related conditions. These events are emitted as changes occur.

Turn Capacity Signals into Action

Capacity Events become even more powerful when combined with the capabilities of Real-Time Intelligence.

Key Capabilities

  • Configure alerts and notifications when capacity metrics exceed defined thresholds.
  • Trigger automated actions and operational workflows.
  • Stream events into Eventhouse for historical analysis and long-term retention.
  • Build customized dashboards and monitoring experiences for capacity operations.

For example, a Capacity Administrator can automatically be notified when usage approaches a defined threshold, enabling proactive action. Organizations can also capture and retain all capacity events to support trend analysis, capacity planning, governance, and operational investigations.
