interactions: line chart not only filter but also highlighting

When I want to let a line chart react on selections in other visuals ("edit interactions") I can only choose between "filter" and "none" for the line chart but not for "highlighting". I would like to be able to highlight the line that matches to a selected value in another visual

The highlight interaction is not available for many chart type, such as line chart. WHY?
