Another use case I didn't see mentioned from a quick scan of this thread is scaling factors (and other coefficients that could benefit from being changed for different analytical purposes). For example, I recently created a metric to measure how spread out our ordered units were across many orders vs concentrated into very few orders. Few orders will always make for a high score. Many orders but with 90% of the units in placed in one or two orders leads to a high score. Many orders spread evenly leads to a low score. This naturally relies pretty heavily on our definitions of "many"/"few," which may change over time and aren't necessarily based on data. Having an input somewhere would allow us to quickly test out new coefficients, check the metric relative to certain inputs, dig into compressed parts of a scale more easily, and so on.
