Hey team, Is there an ETA for supporting Fabric Capacity Contributor assignment via API? The Capacity Contributor permission is critical for organizations that want to give end users the ability to create workspaces and assign Fabric capacity — without granting full Capacity Admin permissions. This is an important permission boundary that many customers rely on for least-privilege access models. However, based on my current understanding, the API only supports assigning Admin permissions. Assigning the Contributor role is currently only possible through the Fabric Admin Console, which introduces two significant pain points: Operational overhead — It requires manual effort from Fabric admin teams for every new Fabric capacity. Limited automation — It blocks the ability to set up and manage Fabric environments programmatically at scale. Supporting Capacity Contributor assignment via API would unlock fully automated Fabric provisioning workflows and reduce the administrative burden on platform teams. We have DEV -> UAT -> PROD workspaces with deployment pipelines moving content between these.  We also use variables to allow us to dynamically change connections destinations and other names that changes between these, but there are some things that can't use variables, which requires pipeline rules.    The problem with these rules are that only the person who creates them are able to see the content of it, and change it. It is a very immature system as it is hard to maintain and organize properly. If these deployment rules were stored in a variable object instead, it would be easier to maintain and more flexible. ... The current approach using USERPRINCIPALNAME() and user-to-data mapping tables becomes difficult to maintain as users frequently join, leave, or change responsibilities. Proposed Enhancement Make the USERMEMBEROF() DAX function generally available across Power BI Premium and Microsoft Fabric capacities, allowing RLS rules to evaluate Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID) group membership directly within DAX. Business Value Using USERMEMBEROF() would enable organizations to: Manage security through Azure AD / Entra ID groups instead of individual user accounts. Reduce administrative overhead for large deployments. Align Power BI/Fabric security with existing enterprise identity governance practices. Simplify RLS model design and maintenance. Improve scalability for organizations with thousands of users and frequent access changes. Current Limitation Today, USERNAME() and USERPRINCIPALNAME() return individual user identities rather than group membership. While AD groups can be assigned to Power BI roles, dynamic filtering based on group membership is not available without maintaining custom user mapping tables. My PowerBI use is almost always to monitor time series. Here, sorting graph data as 'x-axis ascending' is the way to do it. Power BI, by default, sorts graphs 'y-axis descending', which is probably more useful for ranking porposes. I currently use Power BI reports that import data from many Lists on a SharePoint site. The SharePoint List Mirroring option currently available in Preview seems like a much more efficient way to handle this, so I was eager to try it out, but I quickly found that manym but not all, of my tables failed to replicate, with a generic "internal service error" that didn't help me narrow down the problem.   With enough testing and re-trying, I was able to isolate that mirroring outright breaks on any table that has a "Required Info" warning in the SharePoint List. If a column is marked as required and a single row has it empty, the entire table cannot be mirrored.   This isn't a problem for me in my current PowerBI setup; Power Query will simply have those fields import as "null" and carry on. I also can't simply resolve every instance of "Required Info" in my lists, because many of them are due to new required questions being added to various Forms, meaning all rows from before that point will now read as "Required Info".   It would be better if SharePoint List mirroring handled this the same way that Power Query does and reads these fields as null, allowing row replication to proceed in these cases. ... We're running Fabric capacities in East US 2 and were excited to start experimenting with Rayfin after the Build 2026 announcements only to find that Fabric App (preview) isn't supported in our region. Creating a separate capacity in a different region just to test this is a bit of an overhead, especially when we're already fully committed to Fabric in East US 2. Would love to see this region (and the others listed under footnote 8 in the docs) added to the supported list soon.
