Feature request: OneLake shortcuts to support connections to ADLS Gen2 storage accounts using managed private endpoints   Currently OneLake shortcuts only support connections to storage accounts that are publicly accessible or accessible with storage networking rules in place. Shortcuts via Managed Private endpoints are not supported yet. Our organization requires all connections to go via Private Endpoints. Furthermore, networking rules are not possible in our situation, since our Fabric instance is deployed in a different Azure Tenant.   OneLake shortcuts are a great way to save compute, as we would be able to query directly on our Delta and Parquet tables in our Storage Accounts, instead of requiring compute to serve this data. Hi, to order an array into a pipeline it could be very useful to have an appropriate feature, e.g. a sort activity or a sort regex function, without using any notebook codes. F.e. an array could contain the name of files read by a get metadata activity against an on-premise folder and before copying the related files into a lakehouse it could necessary to order this array to perform a right copy following a temporal order. Currently, Microsoft Fabric does not expose source or connection metadata for Azure Databricks (Unity Catalog) mirrored items through any public REST API. Although these artifacts appear in /v1/workspaces/{workspaceId}/items as MirroredAzureDatabricksCatalog, they are modeled as a different artifact type than database mirrors and therefore do not appear in /mirroredDatabases. Hello Power BI Team, I’m writing this as a long-time Power BI user who builds operational dashboards daily—not demos, not samples, not screenshots, but dashboards that people actually work in for hours. Over the last few updates, several basic but extremely practical formatting options have been quietly removed or hidden, particularly in the Table and Matrix visuals. The most painful example is the removal of alternating row backgrounds in Tables, which was a simple, effective readability feature used widely in real-world reporting. What’s frustrating is not just the limitation itself, but the direction it reflects: Useful controls removed without clear alternatives “Style presets” that look fine in marketing examples but perform poorly in dense, real dashboards More time spent fighting the tool than focusing on insights Presets are not a substitute for control. Most serious Power BI users I know turn them off immediately and manually format visuals anyway—because clarity, contrast, and readability matter far more than opinionated color choices. I’m sharing this feedback because Power BI is otherwise a very capable platform, and regressions like this genuinely reduce productivity for experienced users. Dear Microsoft Support / Power BI Development Team, I am writing to report a persistent limitation regarding the use of Python scripts as a data source in Power BI Service, specifically for web scraping tasks. Currently, when publishing a report that uses Python scripts, the service returns the following error during scheduled refresh: Extension{"extensionDataSourceKind":"Python","extensionDataSourcePath":"Python"}. The only known workaround is using the On-premises Data Gateway (Personal Mode). However, this is not a viable solution for enterprise-level environments for the following reasons: Dependency on local hardware: It requires a specific user's computer to be powered on and connected. Scalability: It lacks the robustness and centralized management of the Standard (Enterprise) Gateway. Security and Maintenance: Maintaining individual Python environments on local machines is inefficient. As of 2025, Python has become a fundamental tool for data engineering and scraping. I kindly request that Microsoft considers: Enabling Python execution support within the Standard (Enterprise) Gateway. Providing a native cloud environment for Python script execution within the Power BI Service/Fabric capacity. We have had several occurences where a Notebook will exit the notebook code, but the Spark session is inexplicably not closed. This causes us to incur signifigant capacity consumption until an admin recognizes that a notebook has been running for much longer than expected via the Monitor tool or from Capacity alerts and manually ends the session. However, by the time corrective action has been taken, we have already utilized more capacity than we should have, leading to further potential issues like throttling.  Please add the ability to add an optional timeout for Notebooks that are run in the background. When we update a bookmark by selecting specific visuals in the Selection pane and then click Update, the bookmark name gets highlighted in the Bookmarks pane when we navigate to it; however, the Selection pane will not highlight (or re-select) the visuals we used during the update it only reflects their visibility states and layer order as captured by the bookmark, but it does not actively highlight the layer order with respect to that bookmark. ... The usecase scenarios for this are either simply because the server has no access to pbivisuals.powerbi.com so it's useless to even try to reach it, because it is a locally developed custom visual so there's nothing to compare against, or because PBIRS simply can't compare/check if the version is latest for a variety of other reasons. Forcing clients using PBIRS in enterprise environments to wait upwards of 20 seconds just for a obvious timeout when the report is predictably perfectly functional is absurd. PBI amazing advantage of snappy data loading and visualization (both in DirectQuery and Stored Data), turns to dust when you're forced to wait for a timeout that's not even related to data loading. Description Currently, Power BI Pie and Donut charts do not allow overriding display units using a new measure column. These visuals automatically control data label units and do not consistently respect custom DAX format strings. As a result, display units cannot be aligned with other visuals such as Bar or Column charts. For example, Bar charts may show values in Millions, while Pie or Donut charts show Billions or raw values, causing inconsistency and confusion. Idea Subject Enable Actions for Text Box Visual in Power BI Reports   Background / Current Limitation In Power BI Desktop, when we navigate to: Insert tab → Elements section → Text box, the inserted Text Box visual does not support Actions. Unlike Shapes or Buttons, the Text Box: Cannot trigger Page Navigation Cannot trigger Bookmark actions Cannot open Web URLs As a result, Text Boxes are mostly limited to static text and become underutilized in interactive report designs.   Problem Statement Many report scenarios require text-based navigation, instructions, or contextual information to be interactive. However, due to the absence of an Action property, Text Boxes cannot be used for: Navigating between report pages Triggering Bookmarks to show or hide content Performing Drill-through to detailed pages Launching Q&A experiences from descriptive text Redirecting users to Web URLs such as documentation or external applications Applying all slicers to predefined states Clearing all slicers to reset report filters This forces report developers to rely on Shapes or Buttons with overlaid text, increasing design complexity and maintenance effort.   Business Need Modern Power BI reports focus heavily on: Clean and minimal UI designs Guided analytics and storytelling Improved report usability for business users Enabling Actions on Text Boxes would allow: Clickable text-based navigation Interactive explanations and descriptions Better user guidance without additional visuals This enhancement aligns with usability, accessibility, and design consistency goals.   Proposed Requirement Add an Action property to the Text Box visual, similar to what is currently available for Shapes and Buttons.
