It would be extremely valuable to support hover-based style changes in Power BI Desktop and Service. Specifically, I would like to request the ability to configure visual elements (like buttons, icons, and slicers) so their colors, border widths, or icon weights dynamically change when a user hovers over them. Example Use Case: When a user hovers over an information icon, I want to: Change the icon color from #6C6966 to #A60D0D Change the icon border thickness from 2px to 3px Change a related slicer border color from #000000 to #A60D0D Increase the related slicer border width from 1px to 3px Example: Info Icon Hover = False Example: Info Icon Hover = True This kind of interaction is common in modern UI/UX design and would greatly enhance usability, accessibility, and visual feedback for users navigating reports. Why This Matters: Power BI currently lacks any built-in capability to respond to hover states with formatting changes across visuals . This limits interactivity and makes it harder to guide user attention effectively. Workarounds with tooltip pages and overlays are complex and limited, and do not truly simulate native hover behavior. Proposed Features: Add conditional hover states to buttons, shapes, icons, and slicers Allow formatting options like border color, fill color, font weight, stroke width, and background effects to be defined for the "on hover" state. Enable "hover trigger" behaviors that can optionally affect other visuals (e.g., changing slicer styling when hovering over a button). Please consider prioritizing this feature to support more dynamic, intuitive, and professional report experiences.
