When Fabric Pipelines are created, there is an option in the Pipeline's schedule settings to send failure emails to a sepcified email address. When those emails are sent, it would be extremely useful to have the workspace name included in the email content.   Currently, the failure email contains the item name, item type, and a few other useful fields, but it doesn't include the workspace. All failure emails, whether from a Power BI or Fabric artifact (semantic model, dataflow, dataflow gen2, pipeline, etc...), should include the workspace name.    We have the same pipeline name used across dozens of workspaces, including DEV/UAT/PROD workspaces.   Not knowing which workspace's pipeline produced the error leads to additional support effort, often during non-working hours of the day, when a quick scan of the email could determine that it was a DEV or UAT workspace and can be ignored until business hours. Having the workspace name in the email also helps to get the right support staff engaged (eg. CustomerA and CustomerB may be supported by different resources/teams). ... View more

Microsoft Fabric currently lacks a native Master Data Management (MDM) capability, creating a gap for organizations that need to manage and govern business-critical reference data such as customers, products, suppliers, cost centres, and organisational hierarchies.   In many Fabric implementations, master data is maintained through CSV or Excel file drops, SharePoint lists, or custom-built applications. These approaches introduce risks including poor data quality, lack of governance, version control challenges, auditability concerns, and inconsistent business definitions across domains.   While third-party MDM platforms such as Profisee can address these challenges, they often represent significant additional cost and complexity, particularly for small and medium-sized organisations that require lightweight master data stewardship rather than enterprise-scale MDM.   A native Fabric MDM solution could provide governed data maintenance workflows, approval processes, change history, business-friendly editing interfaces, hierarchy management, and seamless integration with OneLake, Data Factory, and Power BI. When we create a connection using a key vault reference, it properly allows us to select the reference in a drop down, type the secret name, and it works perfectly.  Whenever you come back to the same connection, which is now using the key vault reference, the UI behaves the same as if it was using a service principal key, meaning: - no dropdown or something pointing to the key vault reference - a masked value, implying it is actually a key, and not a key vault reference.   Problem this brings is that any issue with the connection will lead to an inestigation if it is actually using the KV reference or direclty a key. This usually will require updating the key of the SP, the key stored on the key vault, and in the connection to confirm what is actually happening.   Expectation would be that whenever a key vault reference is used, the UI clearly shows that (blocking edits on the key value, and probably showing the key vault reference name) ... In the Microsoft Fabric Semantic Model, we can create and modify a model via the web interface. However, to refresh the schema of a table that has had a new column added, we have to refresh the model using the desktop version. Depending on the operating system used or company policy, this can be a show stopper. The question is: Will the feature to refresh schema and data be in the roadmap? Hi,   It would be amazing if I can set up a copy job against a CDF enabled Lakehouse delta tables and incrementally grab all Inserts Updates Deletes with Append option to destination Lakehouse or Warehouse.   For example, Link to Fabric Lakehouse against Dataverse behind Dynamic 365 as a source. It would be amazing if we can setup a Copy Job that does full load first and captures the version of the CDF table (Decribe History) and then does incremental append only loads grabbing only version changes from latest version onwards, instead of latest change.    This way, we will be able to have a immutable, append-only, read-only Bronze lakehouse that contains all changes from a source and using audit columns to have previous CDF version as lower bound and current maximum as upper bound (similar to watermark based incremental append load) system as a foundational layer for a robust SCD2 (bitemporal) Silver Layer.   Thanks! Currently, Microsoft Fabric pipeline notebook activities fail with a "401 Unauthorized" error when using notebookutils.udf methods (such as getFunctions or getMetadataStr) under a Service Principal identity. While these functions work when executed under a personal user identity, this limitation prevents automated pipelines from leveraging User Defined Functions (UDFs) for modular code sharing and reusability. When interacting with a line chart, if you click on an item in the legend, it highlights that legend item and also highlights the line in the chart represented by the selected legend item.    Unfortunately, this doesn't work the other way around. If you select a line, it will highlight the line, but it doesn't highlight the legend item matching the line selected.
