It appears that you've changed how cell properties work in tablixs, I can no longer click an action link, so many of my reports authored in the new version don't work now. I'll go find the older version and download it so I can get that functionality back.

When we open a Power BI semantic model and set up a refresh, we usually schedule it to run every 30 minutes or 1 hour. It would be helpful to have predefined options to enable scheduled refresh at fixed intervals like every 30 minutes or 1 hour. At the same time, the current manual scheduling option should still be available for custom configurations.

I'd like to request an optional slicer setting. If the setting is selected, then the slicer will automatically reset to no selection every time you navigate away from the page. Background I have two tabs in Power BI. Tab 1 contains a bar chart visual. Tab 2 contains a table of details. I can drill-through from the bar chart to show the relevant items in the table. I can then subsequently filter the information in the table, using a slicer. Problem If I have used the slicer to filter the table, the next drill-through is affected. If I navigate back to Tab 1 and drill-through from another category, the filter on Tab 2 persists, and is now stale. The information shown on Tab 2 is now filtered by a slicer that is out of date. Solution/Request If there was an optional setting on the slicers that allowed the slicer to be re-set on navigation, then when the user navigates back to Tab 1 and drills-through to Tab 2, the drill through will be representative of the selected category, and not affected by the stale slicer.

🧠 In large Power BI reports with many visuals, refreshing the entire page after a slicer or filter change can be slow and resource-intensive. Currently, all visuals are refreshed regardless of whether they are affected by the change. Proposed Idea: Introduce a “Smart Visual Refresh” feature that: Detects which visuals are impacted by a slicer or filter change. Refreshes only those visuals, leaving unaffected visuals untouched. Optionally highlights which visuals were refreshed (for transparency). This would significantly improve performance and user experience, especially in enterprise dashboards with complex data models.

🧠 In Microsoft Fabric, users often encounter inconsistent behavior when accessing Delta tables from different interfaces — such as SQL Endpoints vs. Notebooks. A common issue is that a Delta table accessible via SQL Endpoint may throw a "table does not exist" error when accessed from a notebook, especially when workspace names contain special characters or when the notebook is executed in a different context (e.g., Data Engineering vs. Data Science). Proposed Idea: Introduce a "Context Awareness Layer" in Fabric Notebooks that: Automatically detects and aligns the execution context with the Lakehouse environment. Warns users if the current notebook context may not reflect the latest metadata or table state. Offers a one-click "Refresh Context" button to sync with the SQL Endpoint metadata. This would prevent confusion, reduce support requests, and improve the developer experience — especially for teams working across multiple personas (data engineers, analysts, scientists).

Description: In Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, I created a Delta table that is fully accessible via the SQL Endpoint. However, when I try to access the same table from within a notebook, I receive a “table does not exist” error. This inconsistency is problematic, especially during data engineering workflows. Details: The table exists and can be queried successfully using the SQL Endpoint. The issue only occurs when accessing the table from a notebook. The workspace name may contain special characters. I understand that Lakehouse features are still in preview, but this behavior disrupts the user experience. Suggestion: It would be helpful if the notebook interface used the same access logic as the SQL Endpoint or at least provided clearer error messages. Additionally, clarification on whether special characters in workspace names contribute to this issue would be appreciated.

Currently you need to upload your reference layer in the visualization Azure map as a file or as a URL. Since most data is stored in data warehouses nowadays it would be appreciated if you could use WKT from your loaded data in your semantic model and keep your WKT in your data warehouse instead of storing it as a seperate file.

As of now, the PowerBI Copilot is unable to generate calculated fields and can only work with the existing fields in the semantic model. Would be great if Copilot had this capability.

It would be great if the Global Action Pulse could report on upcoming or overdue GRC metrics within a leaders organisational structure. Context: there are some folks within departments that are control owners of material risks that sit outside their team/department remit. To have visibility of GRC compliance within his/her organisational structure would be very useful. Hopefully that makes sense.

When developing **custom visuals** we often need to display menus, rich tooltips or dialogs that don’t fit inside the visual’s rectangle. Today everything is rendered inside an `<iframe>` with `overflow:hidden`, so content is clipped when the user resizes the object. We request an **Overlay / Popup API** that lets a custom visual render content over the entire canvas, following the same UI behavior as native visuals (slicer dropdown, calendar, etc.). Minimum requirements: 1. Host method such as `displayOverlay(htmlElement, options)`. 2. Z-index managed by the host to avoid stacking conflicts. 3. Auto-close when clicking outside or switching pages. 4. Works in Desktop, Service and mobile. Benefits: * User experience identical to native visuals. * Saves dashboard space. * Enables advanced tooltips, in-place editors, wizards, etc. Thank you for considering this feature – it would unlock many scenarios for the custom-visual community.

In the user defined reports, When users select multiple fields for their report, the order in which they select these fields determines the order in which they appear in the visual. However, if they later realize that the order is incorrect or not as intended, there is no easy way to reorder the selected fields. The only option that I know is to unselect all fields and reselect them again in the desired order, which becomes a tedious task, especially when working with a large number of fields. Is there any way forward to overcome this in PowerBI user defined reports ?

We have some groups that want to be assigned database admin to run some management scripts. However, we do not want these groups to be able to access senstivie data(in table and in .show queries). With RLS on tables, we could control the access to table. However, .show queries will return all data to admins which is not what we want. We want Kusto team to support RLS over .show queires so that we could better contribute to the security and compliance of data access even with admin roles.

It would be incredibly useful to have the ability to freeze the top N rows in a Power BI table visual, similar to the Freeze Panes feature in Excel. This functionality would: -Allow users to pin key summary rows or headers (like KPIs or Top 5 performers) while scrolling through the rest of the data. -Greatly improve report readability and user experience, especially in dashboards with large datasets. -Eliminate the need for workarounds using multiple visuals to simulate the behavior.

Hi, we have our own IKEA Business Department at the IKEA Burbank location. Can it be possible to add IKEA Business as a new department for their deparment to have a physical HCS? It would be a great idea. Currently IKEA Business HCS falls under services but only if the business customers gets delivery but we would like for IKEA Business to have their own HCS. Thank you

I would like to be able to rename pretty much anything in Power BI (besides the columns in source data) and have everything downstream continue to function with the new name. Renaming a column or measure causes downstream artifacts to break. For example, renaming a column from "Customer Count" to "Client Count" in a semantic model to align with updated business terminology could result in a lot of work updating measures, as well as linked semantic models and reports to reflect the new column name. If the column is used in the data model to join to another table, that also breaks. Take BusinessObjects, for example, where I can rename an object in a universe and hundreds of downstream reports (along with report-level variables) will continue to work just fine because the downstream components are referencing the object's underlying ID, which does not change when the object name changes. This should be standard functionality in Power BI as well.

It would be amazing if we could create (or transform) visual tables or cards in calculated tables and metrics without needing to code them instead. It would optimize memory storage and access to different data. E.g.: If I wanna create a table with data of different table, linked by ID or any other column, I have to hard code it. On the other hand, it's very easy to create a visual table to visualize this data, but I can't use it for nothing other then visualize it. If Power BI is showing me this data, that means it has the "in-memory table" to create and interact with these columns. So, why not have a button that "converts" visual table (or metric) to calculated table (or metric) and vice versa?

Issue Currently, when fields or measures are added to the X-axis or Y-axis in Power BI visuals, they are automatically included in the tooltip. This can become frustrating for report authors, particularly in cases where additional measures are used strictly for visual structuring or analytical purposes, and are not meant to be shown to end users in the tooltip. Example The automatic inclusion of these fields can lead to cluttered and confusing tooltips, reducing the overall clarity and effectiveness of the visual. As a workaround, authors are often forced to disable tooltips entirely, which negatively impacts accessibility and removes useful contextual information from the report. Possible Function To enhance the clarity and usability of tooltips, it would be highly beneficial to introduce a feature that allows report authors to toggle the visibility of specific axis fields within the tooltip. Benefits This enhancement would enable cleaner and more focused tooltips, improve the end-user experience, and give developers greater control over how information is presented in a report.
