Currently in Power BI Desktop, within the Data pane, if you right-click on a Field in the Field List, it pops up a context-aware menu that lets you create a new measure or column. However, when it puts you in the formula box to start defining the formula, it doesn't pre-fill the column or measure that you were on, when you right-clicked to start with. It would be a real time saver and usability enhancement to pre-populate based on the column/measure you had highlighted when you started the process. For example, if my data has "PolicyNumber" in the rows, but I want to add a Measure for "Unique PolicyNumber Total", I'd like to highlight "PolicyNumber", then right-click, select "Measure", then have the new measure already be referencing "Policy Number", such as: "Column = [Policy Number]". Then, I could just scroll over before the left bracket, and type DISTINCTCOUNT, and be about done, without having to type/select the source column again. ... View more

Allow user to increase/decrease the size of the circle data point that is showing a lat/lon point. Also allow users to set a range of colours or set to similar or different colours. Right now the visualization can give very similar colours for different data points making it impossible for a visual differentiation between data points on the map (and setting custom colours isn't persistent with other slicer selections/large range of data points that may end up in the map). ... Allow the visualization to set a maximum domain to limit zoom out. Right now a slicer selection can mean a zoom out to the full world view and then force the user to zoom back in. Maybe enter a lat/lon for map center and set a max width for the map. ... View more

Copy/pasting a query out of the preview editor is useful, but it should be easier to paste a query back into the preview editor. I often paste a query into my favorite text editor in order to bulk edit / refactor / etc. If I copy all the M back to my clipboard, it doesn't work to paste back onto the preview editor. Pasting a query from the text editor should work the same way as pasting from a query you copied from the editor. ... View more
