This is a problem with this forum-software: When posting code to share sometimes the copied code will not run because there are non-printable characters included that destroy the logic. The code in the HTML-editor works (also when edited again), but when the readers copy it, it will contain these invisible characters. As I wrote in my problem description, I cant’ sart power BI desktop correctly on my laptop. I tried several things like install, uninstall framework and so one. I also tried to install/uninstall (more than one time.. ) the 32 bits version and the 64 bit version. When I install the 32 bits version, the program succeed to start and I can use powerbi almost normaly but as soon as I want to put a visualization on the designer, I catch this error message (Can’t display the visual) When I trie to install the 64 bits version powerBi does’nt lauch at all. It freezing on the first screen “Initializing model” and than I catch the error message : "we weren't able to connect to the model". May I precise it's my firt start of power Bi on this lapto. It was unable to launch even before I updated Power BI and i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version but it still doesn't work. I did model the data in Power BI desktop and published to the service. Using the personal gateway I know the data can be refreshed through the data sources in PBIX. But the calculated columns using DAX from PBI desktop, will it be refreshed if the data changes in the source (Excel, SQL) ?? Today I updated Power BI Desktop to the latest version and I noticed that importing data from SSAS Tabular using a MDX or DAX query ignores this query completely and sends you to the model browse form. Format controls could be changed by tapping keyboard arrow keys. But this changed sometime in the past releases and no longer works. I found this very useful to make small changes in the Format (change size from 11 to 12) much easier than using the mouse. IF you need to change the data source on multiple sources, once the first source has been changed the option to change the next source remains greyed out. I circumvent that by clicking on one of the other options, and the grayed out button then becomes available again. Weird ... View more
