For the Azure Maps Visual in PowerBI - can we have it default to the Satellite overlay rather than Grayscale. Every time I switch to Satellite view and publish - it reverts back to Grayscale. Grayscale is nice but prefer Satellite.    Here's what other forusm have told me:  Short answer: No — not currently. Power BI’s Azure Maps visual does not allow you to set “Satellite” (or any basemap) as the permanent default. It always reloads using the default Road/Grayscale basemap when the report renders. However… there are a few workarounds depending on how you’re publishing the report. Now onedrive/sharepoint refresh, identify the pbix file by File ID instead of File Name. It really causes a lot of issues. When people incorrectly update the file, the file ID lost quietly and intentionally!!! Then all the connection of the reports have to redo...that's really rediculous! This solution is more of a non-technical or user-friendly way, but using a invisible identifier - file ID to identify the file. In the Onedrive/sharepoint, of course file names are not able to duplicate, so naturally it should and it's also available to identify by file name.   Besides, the break of the connection can't be found until developer realise the new function doesn't work, because the model is still able to update data.     ... Hello,   Currently, Microsoft Fabric does not provide a way to temporarily pause data syncing for Mirrored Databases while keeping the mirror relationship intact. The only available option is to delete the mirror, which removes all metadata and requires a full re-ingestion if the mirror needs to be re-established later.   A Pause / Resume capability would provide significant benefits:   Key Benefits   Cost Control: Allows organizations to temporarily halt ingestion during periods of low usage or while performing maintenance. Operational Flexibility: Pausing sync prevents unnecessary data transfers when source systems are under heavy load. Data Quality & Governance: Enables teams to stop ingestion while upstream data issues are being corrected without losing the mirror configuration. No Loss of Configuration: Keeps the mirror relationship, schema mapping, and settings intact, avoiding the need to recreate the mirror.   Requested Features:   A Pause button that stops all incremental sync operations without deleting the mirror. A Resume option that continues syncing from the last successful checkpoint. Optional schedule-based pausing (e.g., pause nightly or weekends). Clear UI indicators of paused status and last sync time. It would be helpful to be able to chose which side the column subtotals (or totals) show on the matrix table so that you can always see them as you scroll have to scroll horizontally through the column fields. Or have them be similar to when you have row totals and have to scroll virtically, the row totals are always visible. I have tables where the grand total per row (column totals) is the primary data point they want to see but they still want to be able to scroll the the fiscal years (column variables).  ... Hello,   Currently, when I scheduled refresh in Power BI Service always performs a full refresh, including both data updates and any schema changes. I would like to suggest an enhancement that gives users the option to:   Refresh only the data (ideal for frequent updates and optimising resource usage). Perform a full model refresh when structural changes are required. Additionally, there could be a manual option such as “Refresh everything on the next run” for occasional scenarios where a complete update is necessary. This functionality would provide greater control and efficiency, particularly for large models and high-frequency refresh environments.   I have not found this functionality documented or available in the current service. If it already exists, I would appreciate guidance. Just like on the new cards, gauges should have a custom field to define what should be shown if the source happens to be null. Currently it shows (blank) and coalesce(value, 0) may not always be reasonable to use therefore the only reliable fallback is fx and set to bg-color when blank. But this is ugly. Not sure about you guys but there's been many times where I just see the dot next to my pipeline's name and I go into the state where I'm unsure if I made any changes or if I really did, where did I do them, after making the changes, went to get coffee and came back clueless. In this scenario, it would be largely helpful if copilot could see where the last saved state and give me an update on changes I have made and aren't saved yet. Currently, based on my interactions with Copilot, it seems that it can only interact with the last saved state of the pipeline and asking it "what's are the changes made" sometimes just drives Copilot crazy and it makes some changes to the pipeline instead of answering the question. Tip: as of now, start your prompts with "without modifying the pipeline, what is..." if you just want to ask Copilot questions about the pipeline and not do work on it just yet. ... View more

In a text slicer, when you add a text to the existing list of patterns, you  validate each new entry with the Enter Key. Your text is then added as a new box at the end of the list. You want to go on with the next pattern (that's where text slicer shines) but your keystrokes are lost. The focus has left the slicer. A workaround os to use ALT-TAB, it will bring your focus back to the beginning of the text slicer, then type "End" to type next pattern at the end of the list. Not very intuitive. Why not prevent the focus from leaving the slicer when user types Enter key ? Efficient people copy and paste few values without leaving their keyboard. ... View more

If a semantic model in Power BI Service has been configured by another user then a number of settings (e.g., Parameters, Refresh) are not accessible for even read-only viewing. I oftentimes want to check the Parameters values of a model but can only do so if I 'Take over' the configuration, which is not a good approach. In Power BI Dynamic Subscription, during the setup at "Email Details" section, there is a "Report page" drop-down where creater suppose to select the page that they want to subscribe and to be included in the email as attachment (pdf or pptx). The drop-down list currently only will list out page which is not hidden. As our power bi report is design to hide all the page except for first page and we included a navigator in all the pages for user to click and navigate through different pages, thus when come to dynamic subscription we are not able to subscribe to hidden pages.   It will be good if hidden pages can be included in the Report page drop-down list for selection.   Thank you. ... Please make Auto honor the dynamic format string and/or measure value for all types (including currency) so KPI behavior matches other visuals. Why this matters Consistency: Dynamic format strings were introduced to avoid using FORMAT() (text) and keep measures numeric while letting visuals display different formats by context (currency, decimal, %, units). KPI’s current Auto scaling undermines that goal. Usability: Financial dashboards frequently compare Actual vs Budget in a single KPI. If Auto doesn’t abbreviate currency, callouts become unreadably long and inconsistent with Cards on the same page. Maintainability: Forcing manual “Thousands/Millions” breaks scenarios where different metrics (EFTSL counts vs. $ revenue) share a KPI but need different scaling depending on selection. This pushes authors back to brittle workarounds (wrapper measures, FORMAT(), or custom tooltips). Repro steps (Nov 2025 desktop builds) Create a single Switch measure (numeric) that returns different base measures based on a slicer, e.g., counts vs. currency. In Model view, set Format → Dynamic for the measure; return currency strings for revenue and decimal strings for counts. (Per Microsoft Docs and blog guidance.) Place the measure in a KPI visual (Callout = measure; Target = budget measure with the same dynamic format). Set Callout Value → Display Units = Auto. Change the slicer from counts (decimal) to revenue (currency). Actual: Counts are abbreviated (K/M); currency shows full numbers (e.g., $228,537,815.48) without K/M. Expected: KPI Auto should abbreviate both numeric and currency consistently based on dynamic format strings / current value, similar to Card behavior. What we observe today (evidence & prior reports) Dynamic format strings work and are documented to keep the measure numeric while changing how visuals render the value. Community reports show KPI “Auto” units not working or only under narrow conditions (e.g., whole vs. decimal types, specific decimal places), with long‑standing threads noting inconsistent scaling behavior. Tutorials and guidance emphasize dynamic format strings for abbreviations (K/M) and currency without losing numeric type—this works in Cards but is inconsistent in KPI Auto. Technical analysis (hypothesis) Auto scaling in KPI likely uses a rule set that depends on the static format category (currency vs. decimal) and does not re‑evaluate the dynamic format string expression or SELECTEDMEASURE() value when deciding whether to abbreviate. Cards have newer rendering logic that respects dynamic formats more consistently (including with the “new Card” GA announcement and display‑unit behavior), while KPI retains older scaling heuristics. There are times when I click the "Refresh All" or "Refresh Data" button it will fail because of one query and the error message will not indicate which query caused it. Rather than me going through each query refreshing, I would like the option of selecting more than one query at a time but not necessary all queries to refresh.
