One of the challenges in Power BI is the need to create DAX measures or calculated columns separately before using them in tables or matrix visuals. It would greatly enhance usability if users could add a new column directly within the visual interface and define simple calculations there. For example, if Column A represents Volume and Column B represents Price, it should be possible to add Column C within the table or matrix and define it as A * B, then rename it to "Total Cost" — similar to how calculated fields work in Excel or pivot tables. I am trying to add a subtitle to a Button slicer that would advise the user if they have made a selection that needs adjusting (due to compatibility with other selections). This would require the measure, when evaluated inside the slicer, to know about what was selected in the slicer. What happens now is the measure is evaluated as if the slicer has no selection. When the same measure is evaluated outside the slicer in a different visual, it performs as expected including the slicer's selection. Power BI does not currently support the dynamic generation of .pbix files via code using external data while preserving pre-defined visuals and layout. This feature would allow developers to use a .pbix or .pbit template file as a base and generate customized reports by injecting external data sources, such as CSV or JSON, through JavaScript or API integration. Publish to web is a good option for embedding Power BI reports on a public website so end-users do not need a license to view the embedded report. But the social sharing icons in the bottom bar are virtually useless since it uses the root-level URL when using those icons, instead of the actual URL of the page the report is embedded in. A Service Principal can currently refresh a semantic model with the following POST, requiring Dataset.ReadWrite.All permissions.   Datasets - Refresh Dataset In Group - REST API (Power BI Power BI REST APIs) | Microsoft Learn   I would like a permission for "Refresh", allowing that same API call without the security risks of granting "ReadWrite".   This would make it easier to pull data as it becomes available without making fragile dependencies on schedule timing. e.g. from SQL Agent Jobs, Task Scheduler, cron.   The equivalent Fabric API call does not yet exist, but if it gets added some day the same would apply. To make life easier, I am suggesting a secondary colour be used to help identify additional fields or measures that are somehow connected to the selected visual. We have a requirement from senior management to send monthly exports of data from a Power BI report. At the moment the most we can do is to either export it manually ourselves into an Excel file and share it, or to create a subscribtion from a Dashboard, but the first is very manual and the second requires the stakelholders to click on a link, find the data, and export it themselves.   This would be better resolved if we could create a monthly export of data from a single table on that report or dashboard, to be automatically sent in email to those stakeholders. ...
