Publish to web is a good option for embedding Power BI reports on a public website so end-users do not need a license to view the embedded report. But the social sharing icons in the bottom bar are virtually useless since it uses the root-level URL when using those icons, instead of the actual URL of the page the report is embedded in. We have no control of those icons. It would be nice to be able to edit the URL in those icons and also select which ones display in that bottom bar.

For BI documents that have multiple authors -- or even for my own use -- it would be very useful to have a way to put comments or visual stickers in the canvas to annotate and mark errors, suggestions, and fixes.

Power BI does not currently support the dynamic generation of .pbix files via code using external data while preserving pre-defined visuals and layout. This feature would allow developers to use a .pbix or .pbit template file as a base and generate customized reports by injecting external data sources, such as CSV or JSON, through JavaScript or API integration. The ability to export full .pbix files on demand, with all visuals and themes already in place, would bring Power BI in line with other Office tools like Excel and Word, which support similar automation through scripting. This would be extremely useful for applications that need to generate personalized reports at scale, automate recurring report generation processes, or integrate BI dashboards into external systems. Providing a supported way to recompile .pbix files dynamically or generate them from structured templates would save time, reduce manual work, and expand Power BI’s usability in modern development environments.

A Service Principal can currently refresh a semantic model with the following POST, requiring Dataset.ReadWrite.All permissions. Datasets - Refresh Dataset In Group - REST API (Power BI Power BI REST APIs) | Microsoft Learn I would like a permission for "Refresh", allowing that same API call without the security risks of granting "ReadWrite". This would make it easier to pull data as it becomes available without making fragile dependencies on schedule timing. e.g. from SQL Agent Jobs, Task Scheduler, cron. To make life easier, I am suggesting a secondary colour be used to help identify additional fields or measures that are somehow connected to the selected visual. Whether that be callout values, reference labels, filters, conditional formatting etc. Perhaps a secondary colour (grey in this example) to help differentiate.

Me gustaría que Power BI Desktop tuviera el mismo tema "Gris oscuro" que existe en las apps de Office (como Word, Excel y Outlook), donde la cinta de opciones, menús y fondo de aplicación son de color gris oscuro, pero el área principal (lienzo de informe) sigue clara. Actualmente solo hay tema claro o tema oscuro completo, lo cual no ofrece el mismo equilibrio visual. Sería una mejora importante en términos de ergonomía visual y coherencia entre productos Office y Power BI.

There is no option currently to apply a conditional formatting function to the Path Layer in Azure Maps. It would be helpful to apply the same conditional formatting as the bubble layer to clearly visualize separate paths and points. Thank you!

are you always overly conscious about what report page you save your powerbi file on? perhaps the app design could be improved? currently we have that inefficent process of switching pages every time you save, or if you forget to do this, to come back to powerbi desktop, just re-save it on the correct page, and re-publish in short, please a powerbi report 'default opening page' setting - instead of it being merely what 'random page you happen to save on'!

We have a requirement from senior management to send monthly exports of data from a Power BI report. At the moment the most we can do is to either export it manually ourselves into an Excel file and share it, or to create a subscribtion from a Dashboard, but the first is very manual and the second requires the stakelholders to click on a link, find the data, and export it themselves. This would be better resolved if we could create a monthly export of data from a single table on that report or dashboard, to be automatically sent in email to those stakeholders.

Currently, Power BI lacks the ability to fully hide or dynamically format slicers based on user interactions such as bookmarks or selection states. This limitation restricts the flexibility of report design and user experience. Proposed Enhancement: Introduce advanced formatting capabilities for slicers that allow: Complete visibility control (show/hide) based on bookmark states or selected values. Conditional formatting of slicer visuals (e.g., background, border, font) tied to user interactions. Integration with selection panes and bookmarks to enable seamless UI transitions and cleaner report layouts.

Hello, The Microsoft community has identified a major error with PowerBI. This error relates to using date slicers. For some users, when we input a date slicer, it causes other visualizations to error out. In the first picture below, you can see an example. This is with the date slicer. In the second picture, the only difference is that I've deleted the date slicer. This problem does not occur if you use other means to filter down to a date range (E.g. drilling down on a line chart), it only occurs when there is a date slicer present. I am using a Windows Surface Pro 11 and the May 2025 version of PowerBI. Comments in the thread below indicate that microsoft is aware of this issue but there is no timeline to fixing it. There is no reason why a customer using the latst version of PowerBI and the latest Microsoft computer cannot reliably use one of the most basic features of PowerBI. Withn Workday there are several companys which operate as Kyndryl companys. Samlink in Finland, KynTech in Portugal, 3250 Kyndryl Italia Innovation Services S.R.L. (KIIS) in Italy (versus 3240 Kyndryl Italia S.P.A. which is Kyndryl Italy, and 3260 IN.TE.S.A. Iniziative Telematiche per i Servizi Applicativi -S.p.A. "Intesa"). It would be beneficial to the business, and TA to be able to report on the hiring volumes and progress on those company's specific hiring demands, split by company /legal entity. As an example, currently in Italy there are 165 Reqs yet to be filled. President wants a report of the hiring progress on a weekly basis by quarter for each company entity ie KIIS, Intesa and Kyndryl. This is manual reporting only trackable by Req currently, and consumes 3 peoples man hours in TA, as well as 2 WS. Approx 5 hours per week. For efficiency and speed, a "company description' filter could be added to the STAL powerBI.

We are currently using Treemaps in Paginated Report Builder (SSRS) and have encountered a recurring limitation: there is no built-in property to hide or remove the category field label (i.e., the group label that appears in the top-left corner of the visual). Our team has attempted several workarounds, such as toggling label visibility with expressions like: =IIf(Count(Fields!YourField.Value)>1, true, false) However, these approaches are unreliable and unintuitive, especially when a category contains only one record—resulting in both the label and the data being hidden, which affects reporting clarity. Why this feature matters: Cleaner visuals for executive-facing reports More control over the layout and formatting Aligns with the flexibility already available in Power BI visuals We kindly request Microsoft to consider adding a toggle or visibility property that gives report authors explicit control over the display of category field names in Treemaps in Paginated Report Builder.
