You must exit the editor and open the “Recent Runs” pane to see diagnostics—interrupting your workflow. Recently I had a data type cause a failure when refreshing data. I recieved the error message:  "DIM_INSURANCE_PLAN OLE DB or ODBC error: Type mismatch. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020005 (DISP_E_TYPEMISMATCH))". If it is able to tell me there was a type mismatch error on a field, why can it not tell me what field the error is occuring on? I spent a considerable amount of time researching/comparing the data types manually. If the error is already known, why can the error message not be specific to where the error is occuring? The selected theme is applied to all the pages in the book, but there is no option to apply it to only the current page. It would be great to include an option to apply a theme either to a selected page or to the entire book.     On the Fabric Idea page, I can see a lot of ideas. If I want to check whether someone has already submitted an idea similar to mine, there is no option to search through all the existing ideas. I'm working with a security-first organization and the dependency on the internet for querying Fabric data is a concern. I initially thought that Private Link is available to Fabric, and it is, but the ability to assign a private IP address to a Fabric Lakehouse or Warehouse is not. When updating a fact table, particularly when field headers change due to modifications upstream, any dependent measures or calculated columns that reference those now-missing fields can result in errors. Currently, Power BI only displays these errors at the individual measure or column level, requiring users to manually open each folder to identify broken items. When developing tables in PQ, it's helpful to see columns in a particular order. It's annoying to have to drag...and drag...and drag columns to get them reordered, and tedious at best if you do it in M. (And yes, those steps get removed before going into prod.)   Please add a "Reorder column" option to the the "Choose columns" command options. This would use the same basic dialog as the "Choose columns" command, but would let you drag the column names up or down or have up/down arrows in it. Currently, Power BI does not support manual line breaks in column headers for Table and Matrix visuals. Attempts to insert line breaks using ALT + ENTER, UNICHAR(10), or other newline characters are ignored. Currently, slicer synchronization works only when both slicers contain identical data. However, there may be use cases where we want to synchronize filters even when the selected data in each slicer is different. The goal is to have a setup where selecting a value in one slicer automatically selects a predefined corresponding value in the other slicer, even if the slicer data sets are not the same. Proposed Synchronization Approaches: Option 1: Predefined Value Mapping Create a predefined mapping between the values in both slicers. When a user selects a value in one slicer, a corresponding predefined value in the other slicer will be selected automatically. This can be achieved through DAX logic or using a supporting table with relationships to drive the selection behavior. Option 2: Overlapping Slicers with Hidden Layering Place the two slicers on top of each other, matching their size, dimension, and design. Configure them such that selecting the first item in the top slicer triggers selection of the first item in the bottom slicer (and so on). However, in real-world scenarios, there are cases where certain slicers should be excluded from this global apply action. For example: A date slicer might need to apply immediately upon selection. A region slicer might be part of a group that requires manual confirmation via the "Apply All" button. To support such use cases, I would like to request a feature that allows selective exclusion of slicers from the "Apply All Slicers" functionality. It would be helpful to have expanded formatting options for individual columns in Table and Matrix visuals—beyond what’s currently available. I’m proposing the following enhancements to the Specific Column Formatting settings: 1. Bold Text Option Allow users to apply bold styling to individual columns. Use Case: When using data bars inside a column, bold text improves contrast and supports accessibility standards, helping key values remain visible. 2. Font Type and Size Control Enable control over font family and font size at the column level. This would improve readability and further support contrast requirements for accessible design.   In the screenshot below (sample data shown), I used a table visual to surface survey items where bar charts weren’t feasible due to the lack of wrap text on y-axis labels. But considering the security risk and management you have asked for the alternate workaround whether you can use the Microsoft Workload Identity Federation as it is very suitable one for you.  We have checked this internally and currently we don’t have any such feature currently available in Power BI to use the Microsoft Workload Identity Federation using the existing Microsoft Entra ID. In my expereince walking through the maze of licensing options so my small consulting firm can use PowerBI to support its customers, I want the larger capacity I have in the trial because it allows me to do everything I need to do, but it is wildly cost prohibative. It's $5K/mo. We considered the Embeded option at $750/mo and as you know we would have to build out a portal for customers, more cost/expertise my consulting firm would rather avoid. We have huge potential and the customers love this solution in testing, it allows for SharePoint embeding as well as portal creation, both. It allows our enterprise users with FREE PowerBI Frabic to see the resports, these are O365 customers like us!   MS needs to consider lowering the requirement to achieve this value. I get it that this level allows Fabric Free users, noted, but honestly, if you want to dominate the space, lower the entry point. Call it essentails or basic!   Why I looked at AWS QuickSite after my expereince.... After dealing with MSPs with no expereince with the product or its licensing that are certified by MS, none really know the full breadth of the licensing model and cannot advise! They and I often lose it over the segmentation of Azure, Office and Azure again. The answer to the question, our need, was the $5K/mo 64-unit capacity that supports all the requirements.     The Embedded product at ~$750.00/mo was a consideration, but honestly, on trial, after seeing a truely perfect solution, it angers me that there isn't some lower entry point for my use case.    There was a rumor on the boards that someone had a lower.smaller capacity attached that was allowing O365 free fabric PowerBI users to access reports, but this information has not been confirmed outside of that post or in documentation.  ... I see there are threads about this from years ago but it's still not really sorted. My team all need to work on a .pbix file, not necessarily at the same time, but due to home working and not being visible to each other, that has happened on occasion. Why does Microsoft not use the "Somebody is currently working on this file. Open a read-only copy?" in Power BI that they do in Word and Excel? It would save a lot of trouble for us when multiple people are inadvertently working on the file at the same time and one person has to exit without saving and redo their work. ... View more
