When a report that uses a live connection to a published dataset is saved in PBIP format in the same folder as the dataset (github repo for example), it sometimes gets connected using a "byPath" connection which then makes Power BI Desktop that it has its own dataset (which is not true) and will apply changes to the dataset's ".SemanticModel" folder even though we haven't made any changes to the dataset. Here you can see that a report named "EAM-Backlog-Report" have only a ".Report" folder and no ".SemanticModel" folder and that's because it was designed to be connected live to a dataset named "EAM-Backlog Dataset". But in the "definition.pbir" file, the connection points to a relative path and if I try to open the report, it will not show this message in the status bar:  And you will be able to modify power query scripts, relationships and columns, just as if you openned the actual dataset object instead of the report.   I understand that's how deployment pipelines are able to connect to report to the dataset that is in the same workspace. But that causes some headaches when using Git repos and the reports are making unwanted changes to dataset.   My request is for reports that have a live connection could use a byPath connection but do not allow modification of the dataset.   ... Hi, I work at an IT company and I develop projects using Fabric and Power BI Premium Per User for our clients. When I build my data platform using Dataflows Gen1, I can export the dataflow to JSON and create an exact copy with just a couple of clicks. It would be extremely convenient to be able to export data platform solutions built with Datamarts in order to replicate them in other environments easily and quickly. This same functionality would be revolutionary if it were also made available in Fabric. Since I have clients using Business Central and CRM built in Power Apps (Dataverse), my Data Platform projects in Fabric are often very similar. I would love to be able to export the entire infrastructure I create (for example, a Medallion architecture with the three historical layers bronze-silver-gold, the associated notebooks, Dataflows Gen2, and pipelines that allow me to manage data end-to-end) and import it into a new client's environment, just like I can with Dataflows Gen1. In short, it would be about managing the Fabric infrastructure as if it were a "Solution" in Dynamics Power Apps. Conditional formatting on columns in Power BI is a great feature but it has several limitations. Three Conditioanl formatting features missing. --  "Formating Painter" allows you to copy over conditional formatting to a new visual, but only if it has identical column names. (needed for completely new column names as well) -- There is currently not way of applying the same conditioanl formatting to multiple columns inside the same visual. In my case, I have 25 columns with the same identical conditional formatting. What pain to manually insert the colors... Template needed! -- Dax allows you create a field value template. AMAZING! But it doesn't allow you for a specific value without mentioning a column name. Would be great with "if answer = X, color Green" No matter the column. Then you can quickly apply that dax conditioanl formatting filter to multiple columns. ... View more
