Idea Summary In Power BI / Fabric workspaces, managing semantic models becomes challenging when there are many models and reports — especially after some reports (Power BI or paginated) are deleted or unpublished. Currently, there’s no quick way to identify which semantic models are still in use and which are orphaned. Problem While the Item Lineage view allows us to see dependencies, manually opening the lineage for each model is time-consuming and repetitive. When numerous reports and models exist in a workspace, this becomes inefficient and error-prone. After removing unused reports, many semantic models remain with no dependents, and confirming this requires checking them one by one. Proposed Solution Add a “Dependency Count” column for semantic models in the workspace view. This column would display the number of dependent items (e.g., reports, paginated reports, datasets, dataflows) connected to each model. When dataflows run into errors and Microsoft Support is involved, the feedback is always the same. Resumed: "we need logs to do any investigation. We don't collect anything ourselves, so your only option is to use your browser developer tools to record a run".  This is frustrating and quite limited when considering that:  Some issues are intermittent and only/mostly happening on scheduled dataflows (sometimes in the middle of the night) Some issues are related to internal connections not transiting via the browser (e.g. connection issues between a dataflow and the underlying staging lakehouse) which will never be captured via browser logs.    Please enable some background logging for dataflows to enable better support for issues here.  ... We are receiving a lot of queries from users in which we use a dark visual title background colour, we are simply not able to see the visual data refresh indicator. When the filter pane is in collapsed (but visible) state, there should be an indicator of any (visible) applied filters in the narrow sidebar. This indicator could/should reflected the formating for active filter cards to make it more coherent.    The indicator could be a simple count of # active filters (e.g. "(3)") or even more advanced , listing the names of the filtered fields.   This will be a subtle notification to the end user, that the report has filters applied (something that's often overlooked when the filter pane is collapsed) ... Hello Microsoft Fabric team, Currently, when pressing the "Refresh" button in Power BI Desktop, all tables in the data model attempt to refresh. This can cause issues when one or more tables fail due to permission restrictions or connectivity problems, halting the entire refresh process. I propose adding a feature that allows users to pre-select specific tables to refresh, either through: A refresh configuration panel A checkbox list in the Fields pane A refresh group/tag system This would be especially helpful in scenarios where: Some tables are restricted due to access permissions Certain tables are static and don’t need frequent updates Users want to test refresh behavior on a subset of data This feature would improve efficiency, reduce errors, and give users more control over their data refresh workflows. For many reports, the primary intended interaction is for users to click on a specific data point to drill down. However, the current default requires users to first find and click the 'Turn on Drill down' arrow in the visual header before they can perform this action. This creates an unnecessary extra step and a point of friction, especially for business users who may not be familiar with the interface. Please introduce a toggle in the Format Visual > Visual header pane, such as 'Drill Mode On by Default'. I'm creating PBI reports with data from Sharepoint. I'm not a sharepoint admin, and I'm perfectly able to query the data using Sharepoint.Files (default connection). However it goes slow because it's a big Sharepoint directory with many files. Sharepoint.Content is able to speed up that load but unless you have global Sharepoint Priviledges (at least that's what I experience) you can't connect. This is very weird because I DO have the credentials to query the subfolder and I don't expect to receive Sharepoint Admin rights just because I want to create some dashboards. Is there any way to get notified if the fabric capacity utilization is more than a certain %  for a certain period of time? Say, if the fabric capacity CU utilization is above 65% for a period of 15 minutes, we would like to get notified.   I think this would help the Fabric Admins in a great way to understand the real peak utilization and the services/components causing the issue, and how to address them.   I know there is an alert in the Fabric port, but it just triggers if it reaches above a certain threshold. However, I would like to add a time frame for it, for instance, if it was above for at least 15 minutes.   I have checked in the Azure portal, but I don't see any viable options to implement it.   Please reach out to me if you need any further details about it.   Thanks -Chiru Galla ... There is currently no way to retrieve correct totals for the table dataviewmapping when datareductionalgorithm is used. The returned total is of the loaded data. This has been confirmed to me by the Custom Visuals team. Quoting the response I received today: "Answering your question — no, there isn’t any undocumented or hidden method to display totals for the entire dataset when using paginated data in a table layout. The built-in Power BI Table visual calculates totals internally through the host’s DAX engine, which isn’t accessible to custom visuals. At the moment, these are no special workarounds, the possible options would be: Providing a pre-aggregated total from your data model (for example, via a DAX measure or calculated table) and pass it to the visual as a separate field. Using a non-paginated dataView for smaller datasets where you can safely compute totals within the visual itself." This prevents building certain visuals like true table visuals. ... View more

Today if you have a calculation item with in a calculation group you want to reuse as a part of another calculation, you have to rewrite that code in a var in the new calculation item.  It would be great to be able to just reference the other calculation item within the calc group to limit doubling of code and limit possiblity of errors when coding.   ...
