Right now, the Viewer role in the Power BI service can create subscriptions for him/herself but cannot add other users to a subscription. Only higher level roles (i.e., Admin, Member, Contributor) may add other users to subscriptions. BUT these roles have access to the model(s) and at least some report edit capabilities.   Our Viewers have the need to setup subscriptions, mostly paginated reports, to send to their direct reports as most recipients of reports in our org are used to the "push" approach every morning. They're general low-tech individuals with the need for key data to perform their jobs well, and SSRS was a good solution for this, but we're preparing now for the de-support of SSRS in 2028. With the 'Replace Values' function, there should be a way to change the values if they are not a specified value. Right now, you can only do it if it is a specified value, but it would help if I could change the values if they are not equal to something. For instance, I have a number column and I want to make it a binary field. If the value is zero, it should stay zero. If it is not zero, I want to change it to 1. It appears that this can only be done if a new column is added, which I would like to avoid to keep the file size smaller. A bunch of our users were reporting cases where they are unable to Approve/Decline a report-level request when the request comes in as an email in their Outlook inbox. They are the Owner of the report, so they will receive the requests.   When they click "Approve" they are met with this error "HTTP '401'" within the email. When they attempt to open this in their browser by clicking "Manage in Power BI" it just brings them to their home page with no way to approve.      When attempting to navigate to the request under Notifications in browser, it does not lead the user anywhere either (nothing happens).       The users are Contributors to the workspace. I tested making them Members and this resolved all the above issues. They were able to approve requests within Outlook and also navigate to requests page and view the pending requests.    I'd like to contact Microsoft Power BI Support to see if this is intended or a bug.    Thank you. ... The Problem: Currently, Microsoft Fabric supports Git integration for workspace items (metadata). However, developers cannot "branch" the actual underlying data in OneLake. If a developer wants to test a new ETL logic, they must manually copy entire datasets to a "Dev" lakehouse, which is slow and consumes extra capacity. The Idea: Introduce Zero-Copy Data Branching directly within the Fabric UI. Using the power of Delta Lake’s "Time Travel," Fabric should allow users to create a "Data Branch" in a workspace. 1. Branching: A developer creates a "Dev Branch" of a Lakehouse. This creates a virtual pointer to the existing Parquet files without duplicating them. 2. Isolated Testing: The developer runs new Spark jobs or Pipelines on this branch. Only changed data is written to new files. 3. Showing reports through apps is the ideal way for audience control and listing/grouping similar reports.    Most businesses will link users direct to an app front page from their intranet, instead of making them wade through piles of apps.  Also, users will bookmark apps.    Why only show certification badges in lists of apps and not do it like you do in the reports themselves, and SHOW the Certified badge in the ribbon of the app?   That way when a department desperately wants a workspace and you make them use an app to share their reports, users can tell that their app and the reports within are not certified as opposed to your data teams app which is. I have a column called "Company Name" with values like "Company1 SpA". When I try to replace "spa" with an empty string (""), it seems to work: after the step, I only see "Company1" in the "Company Name" column. However, when I use this column in a fuzzy merge with another table, it shows "Company1 SpA" again. If I replace the exact characters "SpA" with "", then it works correctly. Would like to ingest events collected and processed in EventStream into a Fabric SQL database. In Azure Stream Analytics this is supported, while SQL is currently not a supported output in EventStream.     Push the data to a lakehouse and then have a pipeline copy it over every 5 or 10 minutes is not a prefered alternative as it is not as real-time as direct connection and it introduces additional complexity for RUN departement.     ...
