I've just finished a support call with a user. They were confused because they could not get the filters they wanted to apply. It turns out they had done a cross-report drill last week. The sticky filters then saved the drill condition, so when they went to use the report again, they could not use the regular filter in the report. Although the reset button may have worked, while investigating they reported that manually clearing the filter from each page worked. I believe there are already Ideas for "allow drill through to use existing slicers", which would have been sufficient in this case. However, I have had similar support requests in the past where no such slicer existed, and the user did not understand why the drill had persisted in the report after the initial page they had used. In this report, there are existing items in the report bar for the user to ignore, so the drill filter was even harder to see. I think the drill filters should appear in their own section, pinned to the top and with more exciting formatting. Something like a header that says "Drill Filter Applied", details of the filter, then a large button that says "Clear this filter" which will remove the filter from all pages in one go. I also feel that drill filters being sticky should not be the default. Give the user a pin button if they want to keep it, but otherwise if they return to the report at a later date the filter should be clear. (I didn't establish if this was a re-open or a tab that had been sleeping for a week, but Power BI tabs that have been dormant for a while tend to refresh themselves without asking anyway, so it's not unexpected to treat idle tabs as a new load).
