I recently watched a lot tutorials on how to achieve page navigations as common in modern web frameworks as Bootstrap including foldable site menusbars and dropdown menus. Or building toggle buttons. And having experience in web frontend design I find it very inconvinient that one has to use work arounds that often include bookmarks.   Creating multiple bookmarks just to get a page navigation menu with dropdown effect seems inefficient. And it gets worse if the visuals of the page already can change with buttons for bookmarks. Or if there should be another foldable menu, for example to place advanced filters in.   It would be great if one can add menu objects, that only show after hitting a button (and hide after hitting another / the same button again) withou creating bookmarks for each unfolded menu page state. The state of the menus could be saved in temporary variable. Even with slicers I could not build this effect yet, becaue I can not toggle visibility of shapes right now.   In addition it would be great if one can link a page naviagtion object over multiple tabs so changes are applied to all liked instances. ... let us say I have created a new Environment named Environment_A for all the different Python packages I need for the PySpark script to run inside Workspace_A. Can this Environment_A be used for another PySpark script running in Workspace_B? I find at times, it works, and other times, it gets disconnected instantly.   The question then is how can I create a new Environment to be used in different workspaces for different PySpark scripts? You know create a new environment with the different Python packages takes time, and we do not want to duplicate the same environment all over the different workspaces.   What is the best solution then?   Everything I need those identical libraries to be used in other workspaces, I need to create another environment in the workspace, and the creation of new environment takes a long time. Hi, I tried cancelling a dataflow refresh using the following API:  Job Scheduler - Cancel Item Job Instance - REST API (Core) | Microsoft Learn   But I had used a wrong combination of workspaceId - correct itemId - wrong (I had used the itemId of a notebook in the same workspace) jobInstanceId - correct Still, the API returned status 202 Accepted. But the dataflow refresh didn't get cancelled.   Suggestion: The API should return an error code if the combination of workspaceId, itemId and jobInstanceId is invalid.   To be clear: later, after I had noticed myself that I used the wrong itemId, I switched to using the correct itemId and then the dataflow refresh got cancelled as expected. ... Need a more efficient way to do a direct connect to Snowflake databases in Power BI Report Builder. Trying to use Power Query functionality for complex reports and multiple types of filters is not working, and performance is terrible.   Custom sql does not seem to work.  Connecting via the Snowflake ODBC driver seems to be the better option at this point in time, at least it accepts SQL code. ... When you click the elipsis next to an object in the Fabric browser interface and select "Save as" the behavior is dependent on the type of object you are copying. If the object is a Dataflow Gen2 CI/CD, then after getting created IN THE SAME FOLDER AS THE ORIGINAL, it opens the object for editing. If, on the other hand, the object is a Pipeline, Fabric opens BOTH the original object and the copy. And, oh, by the way, the new object is created in the ROOT folder, not the folder in which the original object resides.  I have not tested functionality for other object types Save As operation, but I bet there are at least two other variations of what happens. I have a huge Dataflow that saves multiple tables in the Lakehouse. When in dev stage, some get stuck or take too much time to be finished. Whenever this happens, I duplicate the problematic queries and try different and more efficient approaches and try running again to compare results.   When I have to cancel the run, whenever I check the history, it does not show anymore which tables succeeded or were still in progress while it was running, nor even all the ones that were supposed to be processed. Today ISINSCOPE() returns TRUE not only for the column that actually defines the current row header, but also for every ancestor column above it in the same visual hierarchy. This makes it impossible to write a single, generic measure that can detect “exactly which level I am on” when users freely drag-and-drop fields in a matrix or chart. As a result, we are forced to hard-code every possible field order or rely on work-arounds such as calculation groups with manual slicers—both of which break the self-service promise of Power BI. We need either: 1. A new function ISCURRENTHIERARCHYLEVEL() that returns the zero-based index of the current level, or 2. An ISINSCOPEEXACT() function that returns TRUE only if the column is the lowest-level scope for the current cell. I have a matrix with a date column, and under each date are several values.  I was asked to make the vertical gridlines between dates thicker and darker and leave the vertical lines between the values under each date a little lighter and thinner.  This helps to visually break up the dates better.  There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this.  Would be a nice feature, unless it already exists and I haven't found it ... ... Hi,  I have installed latest Microsoft SQL Server 2022 and latest Microsoft SSMS 21 and latest Microsoft Power BI Desktop October 2025 version, when i am launching power bi desktop i am getting error like this "Getting the below error while launching PowerBI Desktop Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.MgdSqlDumper.dll' or one of its dependencies. is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1)"   But i am able to open SSMS successfully and able to connect to databases without any issue. problem is only while opening power bi desktop.
