While Analyse in Excel is a good idea, essentially it would mean formatting the Pivot Table each time such a functionality is called. What we really need is to upload a Pivot Table to PowerBI.com as a report which can be called from the PowerBI interface, and which then connects to On-premise using the Enterprise Gateway. This will enable me to keep my PT format in tact and also use the awesome functionality of PT on PowerBI. However i believe you would use the Excel Services model for displaying the Pivot Table. A smartsheet datasource report created in desktop is not updating on the web. Refresh is enabled. It worked before. Deleting the entire report and dataset then republishing fixes it, until I refresh the data. Then it falls back to a very old set of the data. You have done an amazing job in a relative short time. I really like the idea of this open community, where everyone is able to share their ideas and your monthly effort to enrich Power BI with new features. Nevertheless, I would like to remind you that nearly 30 years ago, Microsoft in an effort to compete Lotus 123 and quickly increase market penetration, launched Excel with a bug. To cut the long story short, the real value of a new software release or update is to give users at the end of the day, additional benefits and features, but also a positive experience and ensure them that everything works well as in the previous version. So it’s not only about being competitive and having short term success, it’s also about being credible and reliable to conquer the world long term. Credibility, especially for new products is sometimes more important than some additional features that customer might say initially “wow, nice add” but could also live without them. Unfortunately, August 2016 update was quite disappointing, as in your effort to add extra capabilities, you create malfunctions in some of the already amazing features of the previous release. Moreover, almost 3 weeks after the initial thread by many users, you have not yet provided a specific ETA. I guess, hundreds of things might running at the same time, but being trustful should not be negotiable, especially when working for Microsoft. On slow connections to the internet, when a user selects a filter it takes time to refresh the various tiles in a report. But the icon of refresh ie the dotted moving circle which comes on the upper left hand side, is not very noticeable. Plus this is for each tile separately. one does not come to know whether the full report has got refreshed, and one has to keep seeing all the tiles to check if the moving cirlces have disappeared to ensure that the full report has been refreshed. Instead of this, PowerBI should show a bold message box right in the middle of the report/dashboard indicating that the refresh work is in progress, and when all the tiles are refreshed the message box should go off on its own. ... I would like to see as many of the following modifications as possible. They will help make formatting tables and charts much easier. - To be able to change/display the column heading name to something else on charts and tables. - Add the Text Size option to all formatting options that display text on the report. A lot of the time, the text is too small to read when the chart has a lot of values. - The ability to select a default Text size for formatting option. When I share my dashboards with internal users (users that need to log-on), they expect to see a dashboard. But instead they need to go through the whole introduction sequence. Since that user is just a consumer of my dash-board, they have no interest in going through the introduction pages.
