PBI desktop should show a notification (like montly release) for minor updates also. For example I had the april 2016 release installed (2.34.4372.322 ) and I didn't realized thet there is a newer version is avaiable (2.34.4372.501 ). I was suffering from a bug, which was already corrected in the minor updadate.

It would be really nice to see a minimum value on the guage to see where we are in our policy. So example, if we have a target to action at least 20 and at most 80, and we have actioned 30, it would show that we are within policy. This is different than a KPI because there is no set target.

The visualisation and fields filters should show by default on dashboard screens (or at least have an option to do so), rather than having to strat typing in the Ask a Question box to enable them. Many users, particularly those with plenty of Excel experience find it easier to build visualisatiuons this way.

Make it so that when a user is pulling in a Excel datasheet, there is a notification in the upload/file select screen which has a icon representing if the Excel datasheet is connected to a database or not.

I would like to see a way to group data into ranges. If I were looking at vehicle data, I would like to be able to group vehicles with mileages of 0-1000 in one group and then 1001-2000 in the next and so on.

Visualization > Format > General > Display Calculated X Position + Width and Y Position + Height This will help with report visualization design. Without this feature the user is constantly doing math to figure out where a visual's right and bottom side are ending.

These secondary vertical sliders in the user interface just make the interface overly complex - first you expand the box, but then you may have to use a slider in that expanded area? Makes no sense, and ends up hiding options (like the secondary Y axes option for the combo charts).... also you need to have a "User Interface" category for Power BI Idea submissions

When exporting from Power BI to Excel any GBP monetary values are suffixed with the symbol  so that they would read: £37,000 instead of £37,000 This meaning that a find and replace has to be done on every export containing £ values before end users can interrogate data the data further in Excel.
