Let me specify to show column labels vertically, rather than defaulting to diagonal.

YES! The defaulting back to diagonal when there is clearly space for vertical is beyond infuriating. If you get it working, then move to a different tab and come back, it flicks back to diagonal regardless of the space there is for the vertical label.
