Just like in SSRS, you need to be able to have a way to collect parameters and pass them to your source rather than bringing all data back and then filtering with timeslice
I also agree with this idea but seems users are busy in applying alternative solutions. Sometimes we dont need whole data or loading all the data in and then processing can be so slow.
