In Japanese, there are two types of alphanumeric characters: full-width and half-width. Particularly in the public sector, there is a rule that full-width is used for single-digit numbers while half-width is employed for numbers of two digits or more. As a result, it is quite common for both types to be mixed within a single file. Consequently, there is a significant demand for converting full-width alphanumeric characters to half-width.
