I already have reports that have a table sitting over the top of a bar chart trying to achieve this effect... Hint: it doesn't work very well

Utilize the colors defined in an MDX Cube to a cell on a Matrix or table.

I think Matthew Lingard says it perfectly. We also need colour formatting for table / matrix values, and the ability to base the decision on a formula as well as a value.

Voting for (Daniel option) - Colour by Columns & Rows, OR at the very least, allow us to have grid lines. The Power BI Matrix is sore on the eyes when you look at a large data set. Best - to be able to define color tiers manually (or by other measure) to do nice KPI functionality.

Color by Individual Columns or Rows, or ranges of Columns or Rows. (both) While useful, it is not a priority to color a column based on a different value.

Adding conditional formats to matrix would allow the creation of performance (sales, profit, volume, etc.) heat maps between cross segments (e.g. how various products perform in various markets, relative to required performance thresholds). It would great value added.
