Basic scenario (without Field parameters):
- two visuals on a page: matrix1 with Product Groups and below that Products on the rows, and matrix2 with Customers on the rows
- drill-down on a specific Product Group in matrix1
- Power BI cross-filtering automatically adds a filter on the same Product Group to matrix2 (this way the filter context and totals stay the same in the two matrices)
- drill-up in matrix1
- Power BI automatically removes the filter also from Matrix2 (keeping filter context and totals the same in the two matrices)
Same scenario with Field Parameters in matrix1:
- matrix1 again has Product Groups and Products on the rows, but this time as Field parameters selected through a slicer
- drill-down on a specific Product Group in matrix1
- Power BI cross-filtering automatically adds a filter on the same Product Group to matrix2
- then, another Field (e.g. Month) is selected for the rows of matrix1 (via the slicer with the Field parameter)
- Power BI automatically removes the Product Group filter which was a result of the earlier drill-down, and all Product Groups are in the filter context (this behavior can be justified I think)
- however, the Product Group filter is kept on matrix2 (and any other visuals on the page), and the matrices now have different filter contexts and different totals which is very confusing
- making matters worse, it is very difficult to get rid of those "hanging" filters! So far only "Reset to default" seems to clear them.
Can this be investigated and corrected? Field parameters are an absolutely great feature, but the above behavior creates a high risk of inconsistent figures and confused users!
I beliee this is already fixed.
