When Sharing Report, Don't Send Email to Recipients

Enable the existing checkbox so I can uncheck "Send an email notification to recipients" so that recipients do not get an email. We share 4 reports with external users. Instead of their inbox getting flooded with emails that have report-specific links, I want them to just get 1 email from Microsoft when I add the user to Active Directory, and 1 email from me with a single link where they can find whichever reports we are sharing with that client. https://app.powerbi.com/sharedwithme?ctid=3bxxxxxx-2xxx-xxxx-xxxx-axxxxxxxxxxx This ability would streamline the on-boarding process for new users and thereby increase the number of Power BI users.

In my organization it actually does allow us to uncheck that box, but then if it's an external user, it doesn't respect the choice and it emails the recipients anyway. Please update this functionality as it is a frustrating bug to believe that you are in control of not sending emails, and they are getting sent out regardless.

If Microsoft insists on keeping this "feature" of sending unwanted e-mails to external users, they could at least change the wording at the check box. Unchecking "Send an email notification to recipients" does sound like no e-mail would be sent. At least they could implement a warning to the user, saying that they will disregard what we did with this check box, so we are warned that our external clients get en e-mail that they 100 % should disregard.
