- CBelcerNew MemberIn addition I've found (and this may be a bug) that Updating a bookmark does not update the selected visuals. The only way I can get a Bookmark to work Using Selected Visuals is if I Create it New Every time I want to Make a change. Completely defeats the purpose of an Update function.
- nicki_tinsonNew MemberI completely agree, this makes Bookmarks very awkward to implement

It would be great to not only see 'Selected' or 'Related' visuals in Selection tab, but to also have an option to select all of them with a single click. Grouping doesn't help that much when working with numerous bookmarks with 'Selected visuals' setting on.

Any news?????

I just realized: Taking over someone else's report & making a small modification is suddenly not a 10 minutes task, but "living on the edge". There's no telling what a bookmark is supposed to do, unless you did it yourself yesterday.
Microsoft, you can do better than that!

Pretty basic stuff missing here Microsoft - cpierceRegular VisitorStill an issue here in 2026

The absence of this basic feature has been such an issue for me that I had to create my own system for keeping track of selected visuals in each bookmark when I'm developing them from scratch. Still though, if you have the misfortune of having to modify existing bookmarks that apply to unknown selected visuals, you're really just SOL.
For those interested, here is my crude "system" for developing bookmarks that apply to selected visuals only:
In a PBI Desktop Report file...
- Go to "View" > Enable "Bookmarks" & Enable "Selection"
- In the "Selection" pane, rename the objects that you're going to select for the bookmark using any unique identifier as the prefix (I personally use ! or _ or *)
> e.g. "!Matrix", "!Table", "!Button"
- Multi-select those objects and create your bookmark
- Somewhere in the name of the bookmark include the same unique identifier
> e.g. "!ExampleBookmark"
When developing bookmarks this way, for example, I'd be able to convey that the selected visuals for "!ExampleBookmark" are those whose names are prefixed with a "!". - DeluxeRegular Visitor
