Many of these world wide data sets are being unfortunately zipped, making it impossible to automate purely via Power BI, unless Power BI could call a small unzip procedure inside, or leverage a client's existing zip tools (Winzip or 7-Zip) to auto import this data.

- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberThis is essential, as most relevant data is zipped these days. For example, historical data like the maximum temperature for each day can date back a lot of years which is a lot of data, but not much as a zip so its how the government departments in each country send out their data. This is where power bi should be able to make a mark (and the ability to refresh the data from the same source like the web connector), but you cant unzip the data so you can't refresh it automatically!
