To customize legend names

Power bi visualization Automatically assigns the legend name like average of sales, maximum/ minimum of sales when we summarize the data and we cannot edit it if we just want to see sales only not average or minimum or maximum.

Try this.. Go in edit queries (desktop bi) and make sure you data types are correct. I had my date column as data type: text, once I changed to date type fixed. No sure why but worked 🙂

Agree, after last update I see that, before was ok.

This is not "completed" in Power BI desktop as of March 2016. The automatically assigned Legend names are too big.

This is not fixed. You can change the column name in the incoming data file but you may not want that in every label. Furthermore if you chart aggregates the data it will add "Average of .." to your label. This makes the label too long, truncating all of the useful text so that each label only read "Average of e...". We want to change the LABEL not the COLUMN name.

I agree, this has not been fixed but it would be really helpful if it WAS fixed. Would significantly improve things if the legend text size and content could be manually edited (e.g. change "Average of Sales" to just "Sales" without having to fiddle around with the data types).

I agree, this isn't fixed the legend labels aren't changeable. If I am wrong please comment on how this is done. I want to change the name of a label from "average of ..." to"just "..." and renaming the field is also not useful enough as a field might be described differently in different graphs.

That is not fixed. It will be really nice if you can add a custom names for a legend

I just downloaded the newest version and it is still not fixed. Would be really handy to give it some kind of label instead of average of ...

Could really use this feature, can it be re-opened for consideration?
