Support for Continuous and One-Time Ingestion from Azure Storage via Private Link

Summary: Currently, ingestion from Azure Storage (ADLS Gen2 or Blob Storage) using a private link is not supported for either continuous or one-time ingestion. This limitation poses challenges for organizations that enforce strict network boundaries and rely on private endpoints for secure data access.

Proposal: Enable support for data ingestion from Azure Storage accounts via private link, both for:

  • Continuous ingestion (event-driven via BlobCreated and BlobRenamed events)
  • One-time ingestion (manual or scheduled data pulls)

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Security: Keeps data traffic within the Azure backbone, avoiding exposure to the public internet.
  • Compliance: Meets regulatory requirements for data isolation and secure access.
  • Adoption: Encourages broader adoption of Eventhouse and Azure Data Explorer in enterprise environments.
