Teradata query banding provides a mechanism for enterprise applications to collaborate with the underlying Teradata Database in order to provide better accounting, prioritization, and workload management. Query banding provides the capability to wrap metadata around a query (i.e. band the query with metadata).
Use cases:
- For chargeback and accounting to meet SLA
- For workload management and resources
- For data security, to display data only available/accessible to end-user running report
