Adding support for JDBC data sources would allow for integration with databases other than SQL Server.

- andy_mcmanusNew MemberSounds like a good idea to me. Would also remove the need to install vendor specific client software to connect to various databases.

- noahb1New MemberI have a Basis BBJ backend running my software, so I need JDBC connectivity as well. Has anybody else come across a workaround for this? Please contact me if so: [email protected]
- rick_fogertyNew MemberJDBC support would allow access to the Oracle 12c RPD semantic layer. Currently, NONE of the Microsoft products (Power BI, Excel, SQL Reports), support the Oracle ODBC drivers when connecting to the Oracle 12c RPD sematic layer. FAIL. Other vendors like Qlik and Tableau got this working with ODBC, even though Microsoft says the Oracle ODBC drivers are non-compliant.

- ASHOKKPINResolver II saw that https://databricks.azurewebsites.net/ Datbricks will support PowerBI - so would this be spark streaming using jDBC?
