How about support for on premise gateways? We cannot BigQuery as new data source into our gateway... so no report refreshes for us.

Is support for refreshing Google BigQuery on Power BI Service still expected by end of the year?

The connector needs the ability to paste Big Query SQL statements into it. Basically, using the UI to build complex queries against very large data sets is not practical (too slow/cumbersome). Many people will already have SQL pre-written or can easily write it. The connector needs to support this.

When are we expecting BigQuery support in PBI Service please?

I successfully made a dashboard that can connect to BigQuery and published to web, but only on a gcp windows vm. On power bi desktop, I created a dashboard and successfully connect to BigQuery. After publishing to power bi server, it requires credential again. But the authentication method is limited to 'basic', except on the gcp windows vm. On the vm, the authentication method is limited to 'OAuth2'. I can only provide credential on that gcp vm. Anyone experiencing this as well?

Hi, I am trying to use Google BigQuery as datasource. Will the Google big query be avaibale anytime soon? Using ODBC is not working because we need to use OAuth mecanism as Service Authentication and a P12 file, but on the gateway configuration, it requires a user/password wich we dont want to use. Cant we still use ODBC while using P12 key file? Thanks

Traditionally with ODBC connections, we are able to use a service account and key on the gateway server. This allows refreshes in the cloud without using a personal account. Our user accounts in BigQuery authenticate via a third party IdP where MFA and IP restrictions are in place. When setting up data source credentials for a BigQuery dataset, it only shows an OAUTH2 option which then takes us to a Google username/password logon. We need to be able set up a data source using a service account and key/password instead.

Right now, Power Bi Service connection to Big Query using direct query is not supported. I would like to see this in future release.
