This feature would be extremely useful. Currently we have to make do with an ODBC connector, which is pretty slow.

Would love to have PowerBI support Google BigQuery. Is there any progress on this?

BigQuery is one of the most easy to use big data backend on the market. Tableau and other major BI players all support Google BigQuery. Love to see native support. This limitation is blocking our Power BI adoption.

Amadeusz / Miguel - Can you share exactly how you've use an ODBC connector to join Power BI & Google Big Query ?

Any updates / timelines on this ? This would be a great addition to PowerBI sources and would really help scale PBI capabilities!

'@Philip Connecting to BigQuery via ODBC is just a matter of downloading and configuring the ODBC driver. Since around 2 months the driver is available for download directly from Google website: https://cloud.google.com/bigquery/partners/simba-drivers/ Configuration is fairly straightforward. Once you do this, you can simply select the ODBC as data source in Power BI and write the SQL query to get the data (same as you'd do in the web interface). The only problem I am finding with this solution is that the data is loading extremely slowly (queries take more than 10x longer to execute compared to web interface).

Big Query support would definitively helps to migrate to PowerBI. Now, we are using Tableau instead... you are losing customers...
