Stop Dataset refresh

Please provide option to stop refreshing dataset after refreshing manually... If there are any performance issues in database this would lock down the table... I even observed that reports doesnt get published until the refresh is done...

I, too am upvoting this. I have a dataset in a premium capacity that has been stuck on "refreshing" for many hours now. The sources within are multiple Excel files on a network share, and are only about 17mb of data combined.

The functionality to cancel a dataset refresh in the Power BI Service is a must have feature and is standard on other competitor BI products I've worked on.  This should also apply to dataflow refreshes as well.  There are some workarounds but they are ugly and have wider implications.  I also understand that there is a solution with XLMA endpoints which is Premium only.  This affects all types of users whether they are developers, administrators or power users.  It's nearly been 3 year since this was originally asked...

Yes, please add a Cancel Dataset Refresh option just like it already exists for Dataflows.

If there are many reports running at the time and one report seems like a resource hog, you would want to pause or stop a refresh so that another report can finish.

This is very much needed for multiple reasons outside of a Premium capacity. At least allow Power BI Admins or dataset owners to stop the refresh if something is awry.

We have a feature released recently called Async refresh. It is REST API based and it offers Delete verb for cancel refresh. It’s in public preview now and feel free to give it a try if you could hook up to rest API. I’m one of the engineer working on it in 2021. Hope my work could help on this issue. Also, there might be room to improve since it’s a preview feature. Please give us feedback through support if you meet any problem. Thank you. Appreciate the patience and help.

Currently waiting for a 5 min refresh which has been stuck for over 1 hour. Can't publish either. Pls make this a priority.

Why is this under "needs votes"? Just how many votes does it need? This is a critical feature to be able to maintain sanity of the workspace where some datasets might be misbehaving causing a domino effect on the rest of the scheduled reports.
