Stop Dataset refresh

Please provide option to stop refreshing dataset after refreshing manually... If there are any performance issues in database this would lock down the table... I even observed that reports doesnt get published until the refresh is done...

The inability to prevent the data from refreshing is vital during the development of a report that references a large dataset. Each time a change is made, we get another query and they stack up in suspended status waiting for queries to finish. Please give us the ability to stop or pause the refresh before our DBA goes nuts.

I use a lot of API queries in my report. Every time I do a little change I need to wait for 5min for queries to load again. I definitely should have the possibility to temporarily disable the refresh. It is sufficient for me that the queries run once, so that I have the base of my report and continue from there. The refresh is only necessary "on demand" and in the final published report.

We need this feature also in my workplace

I'd like to see this as I have cases where the dataset refresh is somehow blocking all the other schedule refreshes

This would be a huge time saver for us. We occasionally run into non-fatal errors or slowness with scheduled refreshes. Currently, we have no choice but to wait for the refresh to time out, which takes hours.

I think this would be useful. In our case, we are troubleshooting a Microsoft connector that is currently making too many API calls to our MAP in too short a period of time. When you add the connector, it immediately begins pulling in data. It would be nice to have some way to stop it from making those calls if there's indications/notifications from our MAP that it's making too many requests. (So we can stop it -- troubleshoot -- and then run it again.)

Microsoft can you please add this function. We have reports that get stuck and take out all the resources at the data source end
