Waterfall in July 2017 update is cool. But it is looking really weird when the breakdown dimension is a period (ie. months that have a natural order). It would be great if the chart could be sorted by Breakdown dimension. On the example of months, we will be able to see the variation between 2 years by month in the right natural order (Jan, Feb, Mar, ...) instead of by value variation that is dificult to interprete More details here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Sorting-on-breakdown-attribue-of-waterfall-chart-not-working/idc-p/349280#M21430

- christian_sklorNew MemberI don't understand why this tiny change in code isn't implemented to give the users the flexibility they need.
- ESRODRIGALNew MemberThis is a very necessary enhancement!
- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberDesperately needed. The whole "it needs to look like a bridge" thing is absurd.
- zenzei2New Member'Sorting by breakdown was not a bug, it really was a feature that we need! You actually have implemented more "advanced" functionality (automatic grouping & sort by value), but the more basic one, which is simply "dont group and respect the breakdown order" is not implemented... and it is a very useful feature! (I would even say, in my case, necessary for the chart to have value) In my case, when I am showing month-over-month changes due to different business drivers, the X-axis legend changes order!! That makes is very hard to read - you have to check every legend every time - very unintuitive (my boss called it a "bug"...) Really, please implement a simple version. The way I see it would be an on-off formatting option that does the following: - ON: sort breakdown by measure value, and automatic grouping works - OFF: sort breakdown by legend, automatic grouping off Thanks a lot for your help, this would make the waterfall really useful for us.
- zenzei2New MemberPlease, this would really be needed! Just allow us to sort on the category we are breaking the value with, keeping its order - even if it is without grouping Thanks!
- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberOur organization needs to be able to see this in a certain order. The lack of a sort facility is kind of surprising. Would love to see this implemented!
- kirti1New MemberPlease implement this feature, its highly required.
- yijiewanghappyNew MemberPlease implement this functionality. The period looks super weird as a breakdown. They should be sorted from the oldest periods to the latest ones. Thanks.
- egimatRegular Visitorbesides the example in the description I 'd like to sort the BREAKDOWN by any measure, not just the one I have in Y AXIS.
- macjax9New MemberPlease implement sort by breakdown
