Smart Visual Refresh: Auto-Detect and Refresh Only Affected Visuals in Power BI Reports
🧠
In large Power BI reports with many visuals, refreshing the entire page after a slicer or filter change can be slow and resource-intensive. Currently, all visuals are refreshed regardless of whether they are affected by the change.
Proposed Idea:
Introduce a “Smart Visual Refresh” feature that:
- Detects which visuals are impacted by a slicer or filter change.
- Refreshes only those visuals, leaving unaffected visuals untouched.
- Optionally highlights which visuals were refreshed (for transparency).
This would significantly improve performance and user experience, especially in enterprise dashboards with complex data models.
