Small Multiple Line Chart with Auto-Adjusting Y-Axis

Trying to show growth in similar groups of people but with vastly different sizes means that showing them on the same line chart tends to hide trends in groups with smaller numbers. There is a custom visual Small Multiple Line Chart which starts to address this by being able to split one chart into several by a specific factor, such as Country, but the Y-axis is static across all of the small multiples so the problem persists where, say, a country with a small population will have an almost flat meaningless trend line if it's in the same dataset as a large country with a high population because of the scale. I'd like to see a standard visual developed to allow small multiple line charts but where the Y-axis can be set to either be fixed (as in the custom visual) or auto-adjusting so that each small multiple might have a different range to allow trends in smaller populations to be seen more clearly.

I need the same. Akvelon has a small multiple that does this, but not certified

I strongly agree. Adding this feature of giving free scale to y axis, in order not to hide multiple plots having a small multiples that has huge y values. This will enable plenty use cases to work with .

This addition would make the small multiples extremely useful. I just came across this feature because I was trying to synchronize the drill down across multiple separate line charts, which doesn't seem to be supported (without complicated work arounds). The small multiples is an even better solution since it naturally groups the data. However as per the very good description above, our data has widely varying ranges so the scale for each small multiple chart needs to be specific to the value being plotted on the chart.

I agree. Indeed you can have a big variation of scale in some data. That would be very helpfull

Essential for my reporting; our business unit budgets differ by orders of magnitude. I cannot display these with trellises as they are implemented now. The workaround (lots of individual bar charts with individual scaling) is possible but not super elegant. Auto scaling would be a great feature!

It would be great if Microsoft adds the customization feature which changes the Y-axis dynamically based on the values.

Hi Team, please add and it would be great if Microsoft adds the customization feature which changes the Y-axis dynamically based on the values. This is required for multiple our reports. Kindly provide these features as earliest as possible.

Hi all, this can be achieved now! - Go into the Y-axis format pane - Ensure the "shared y-axis" toggle is set to off - Set "Scale to fit" to on
