Slider for number would mean that I can view anything with a linear ange of values other than dates. this would mean that I can quickly select a linear range rather than relying on selecting them one at a time would be super useful to allow selection of a linear range easily please do this

- I would add: Make it optional to indicate a single value (rather than a range) using the slider. This would give users the ability to select scalar values (tax rate, commission, quantity, etc.) to determine how specific changes would affect revenue/profit/cost/etc.
- Yes this is a mandatory feature, even excel has this. We have range sliders but if one wishes to select one value it is tedious, we can't always tune min and max values to arrive at the selection.
