Slicer mandatory selection property

A property called "Mandatory select" would be nice under "Selection Controls" for the slicer. This would enforce filtering if the underlying dataset is very big. At least one value must be selected at all times if this property is turned on.

Should be quite simple to add this to the "Selection Controls" section of the format properties.

I actually wrote a custom slicer visual that's doing just that(Selection is mandatory and if one is not present, a default selection will be made), but the recently-enabled sandboxing feature wreaked havoc upon it and rendered it useless(beyond repair). Therefore, I truly hope this idea would be implemented.

I am currently assessing Power BI as an alternative to an interactive excel worksheet but not having this option has limited the applications usefulness.

Again, its unbelievable this is not available. Also when you de-select 'Select All' the system should not retrieve any data at all.

This is almost a requirement for some of the work that i have been doing relating to Sales Executive Dashboards, I want to look at just one Sales Exec at a time, it makes no sense to see all the information for all opportunities on a page specifically designed for an individual break down.

Yes this is needed in the case where you have data that if not filtered doesn't present usable data

Yes, most of the time duplicate data will be presented and the end user is totally confused if this selection is not set mandatory. Also when opening the report I need to set one of them selected by default.
