Skip Credential Validation for Queries Excluded from Report Refresh

Currently, Power BI Service attempts to validate credentials for all queries in a dataset, even if a query is excluded from report refresh in Power BI Desktop. This causes refresh failures when unused.

 

If a query is explicitly excluded from refresh and not loaded to the model, Power BI Service should skip credential validation for that query during dataset refresh.

 

This would improve flexibility for developers and reduce unnecessary credential prompts or refresh failures.
