One of the challenges in Power BI is the need to create DAX measures or calculated columns separately before using them in tables or matrix visuals. It would greatly enhance usability if users could add a new column directly within the visual interface and define simple calculations there.
For example, if Column A represents Volume and Column B represents Price, it should be possible to add Column C within the table or matrix and define it as A * B, then rename it to "Total Cost" — similar to how calculated fields work in Excel or pivot tables. This would streamline workflows and make basic analysis more accessible, especially for users without deep DAX knowledge.
