Shared Data Source Limitation for Azure Synapse Serverless SQL in Power BI Service
When connecting to Azure Synapse Serverless SQL in Power BI Desktop, it's possible to leave the database field blank, which allows the semantic model to access multiple databases. However, in Power BI Service, when creating a shared data source using the SQL Server connection type, the database field is mandatory. This creates a metadata mismatch, preventing the semantic model, which relies on multiple databases, from using the shared data source.
