Serial No in Visual Table

In Power BI Table and Matrix visual, there is a need for an option to add a serial no. This is pretty useful to refer to which record number people are looking at. User can use Rank, but they might not have a unique rank always

    Can anyone has solved this , still is driving me crazy, i have try to solve for at least 2 weeks.

    It would be nice if there was even a HASH function in DAX to hash certain values in the row to give a unique "serial" number to be able to determine what row/record a user is referring to.

    I'm trying to find a way to show a row count total at the bottom of a table visual. This would help me get there, or at least provide a workaround (as the final detail row would contain the total row count in the serial number field).

    I get asked for this functionality by clients all the time and its a headache to try to figure out. This would be very useful!!

    It is Good Idea, but Serial number should not change if user sort on different column.
